This past Monday, Halo LAX, in partnership with Ward Lacrosse, hosted a National D2 Showcase in Philadelphia, PA. The event featured over 85 young lacrosse prospects from 13 different states. The event was directed by Marty Ward, the men’s lacrosse head coach at Florida Southern.
In addition to Marty Ward, there were 21 other college coaches who attended the showcase. Among them were coaches from Saint Leo University, Anderson University, Chestnut Hill College, and many others.
What’s Different About a Halo LAX Showcase?
Halo LAX Showcase events are designed to allow players to not only highlight their personal skills, but to work personally with college coaches. All players in attendance had the opportunity to play for these coaches and worked hard to secure an invitation to the College Invitational later this year.
Here at Halo LAX, we find both parent and player feedback to be incredibly helpful. After the event was over, a parent wrote:
“The event was run fantastic; it was smooth and kept on pace. With the heat it made for an adventure, but breaks were plentiful. I enjoyed talking to a few coaches, who were very pleasant and informative for the process. In addition, my son enjoyed the pace and instruction that was offered. Not to mention, the talent on the field was incredible to watch. He will be attending the D3 Showcase in Rochester, NY the end of July, and we are expecting more of the same. Thank you for putting on a great showcase.”
