It was a hot one in Charlotte, North Carolina this week- and we’d like to blame it on the gameplay that took place at the National D2 Showcase on July 15, 2021. The event was hosted at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in partnership with Ward Lacrosse.
The showcase welcomed 87 lacrosse prospects who traveled from 18 different states. At the end of the showcase, there were over 30 highlighted all-stars (see list below). These players were then invited to compete in the All-Star Game to close out the showcase.
With coaches from 20 NCAA DII schools in attendance, this showcase gave players the opportunity of a lifetime. Players were able to display their personal lacrosse skills, while still displaying teamwork. In addition, all 87 players were able to work closely with these coaches to establish a connection.

During the showcase, it was over 105 °F on the fields. Coaches and event staff were there to ensure players kept hydrated throughout the day. Although it was hot, the event feedback was all positive. One parent said, “Speaking from a parents view, we really enjoyed the showcase in Charlotte today. Not only did Reid make friends, he had a good time and got a lot of reps and playing time. It was a good first experience for him, as we haven’t done a lot towards exposure or events in the past. Thank you for a great time!“
